What this is

PickPrism helps people decide what to buy. A prism splits light into the colours that were always in it; this site does the same to a buying decision — separating the specifications that actually change the outcome from the ones that just fill a marketing page.

We cover everyday consumer categories where products differ in ways that genuinely need explaining: cleaning equipment, kitchen and home appliances, tools, tech, and similar. If a category is simple enough that any option will do, we have nothing useful to add and we stay out of it.

Who writes it

Articles are published under PickPrism Research. That is the honest name for how this site is made: a research and editorial process, run by a small operation with software assistance, working from published documentation.

There are no invented staff writers here. No fabricated credentials, no stock-photo experts, no "our team of engineers." A byline that names a person who does not exist is a lie told to borrow authority, and it is the single most common dishonesty in this genre. We would rather tell you what the process actually is and let you judge the output.

How an article gets made

  1. Find a real question. We look for buying decisions where people are genuinely stuck — where several products compete, the differences matter, and the existing answers are thin.
  2. Gather evidence. Manufacturer specifications, manuals, standards databases. Each fact is recorded with its source and the date we retrieved it.
  3. Decide what matters. For that specific use case, which specifications change the outcome, and how much? This is written down before any product is scored.
  4. Score and compare. Every candidate goes through the same factors with the same weights, and the breakdown is published with the result.
  5. Check before publishing. Claims are checked against sources, links against policy, and the draft against a quality standard. Anything that fails does not go live — including for reasons as mundane as "we could not verify enough about this product."

What we will never claim

We do not test products. We have not used them for months, run them in a lab, or measured anything ourselves. If you ever find language on this site implying otherwise, it is an error — report it and we will fix it.

We also do not copy customer reviews from retailers, restate star ratings as if they were our own finding, or publish prices we cannot keep accurate.

How it is funded

Affiliate commissions, mostly from Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. It costs you nothing extra and it does not affect what we recommend. The full explanation is in the affiliate disclosure.

We do not run display advertising, do not sell placements, and do not accept payment from manufacturers.

Getting in touch

Corrections, questions, and disagreements are welcome — see contact. Brands asking to be featured will get a polite no.
